What items are synchronized from iTunes/iPod to ReQuest servers?
The program automatically synchronizes songs, custom playlists, and metadata changes. All songs in MP3, AAC, or WAV format in iTunes can be synchronized to the ReQuest servers. The Pro version synchronizes music purchased from the iTunes in conjunction with a third party application.

Does NetSync for iTunes copy songs purchased from the iTunes store to ReQuest?
Yes, the Pro version supports synchronization with songs purchased from iTunes.

Will changes in Metadata (song name, artist, album, genre, year) be updated in both iTunes/iPod and ReQuest?
Yes, changes in either system will update in both places. This makes adding media, creating playlists, and editing metadata easy to keep in sync on servers, computers, and iPods. NetSync for iTunes must be in Automatic mode for metadata changes to sync.

Does NetSync for iTunes support multiple users with multiple iPods?
Yes. A key benefit of owning a ReQuest server and using the NetSync solution is support for multiple users and iPods. Families today often have several iPods. NetSync for iTunes will keep all users in sync and allow for easy sharing of songs and playlists.

What items are synchronized from ReQuest servers to iTunes/iPod?
All MP3 songs in the “Stream” folder on the ReQuest server can be synchronized to iTunes and any iPod. Playlists created and modified on ReQuest as well as metadata changes on ReQuest servers can automatically be seen in iTunes/iPods. Dual encoding should be running on the ReQuest servers to copy all media to iTunes/iPods.

How are WAV files copied from the ReQuest Server?
With built-in dual encoding, the WAV files are also available in MP3. These MP3 files are places in the streaming directory and available in iTunes and on your iPod.

Can I import (rip) music to my PC using iTunes and have it automatically be added to the ReQuest server?
Yes, you can import (Rip) CD's with iTunes and automatically have the music added to your collection on the ReQuest server. If you are using Dual Encoding on the ReQuest, then set the importing format to WAV in iTunes. The WAV files will be adding to ReQuest, dual encoded, and then placed in iTunes as MP3s. If dual encoding is turned off, then set importing format in iTunes as MP3.

What is the difference between Automatic Netsync and Manual NetSync settings?
Automatic NetSync will keep iTunes and the ReQuest server in sync automatically without any user action required. In Automatic NetSync mode, the program monitors in real-time changes of iTunes and the ReQuest server (songs, playlists, metadata) and automatically synchronizes the changes.

Manual NetSync can be used to synchronize specific songs and/or playlists from either ReQuest or iTunes.

How do I update NetSync for iTunes software?
When new versions are released, they will automatically be installed on your computer. To manually check for new versions, right-click on the NetSync icon in the system tray and select “Check for Update”.
