OSA International, a premier producer for special events and integrated system solutions, has provided Harmony digital signage for valued clientele. At the 2011 NBA All-Star Jam Session, held in conjunction with the NBA All Star Game in Los Angeles, six Harmony units were implemented to provide up to date information for guests arriving at the main entry, the NBA Autograph Stage, the map and guide areas, and the Fit Court.
Harmony, the digital signage and commercial audio platform from ReQuest, provides a web-based platform for making full motion digital signage presentations from any networked computer with no third-party involvement. This flexibility coupled with the Harmony Player’s ability to operate with or without a live network connection makes Harmony a compelling option for bringing digital out-of-home presentations to live, impromptu, and even touring events. At Viper Alley, a new north shore Chicago venue featuring live music and entertainment, two Harmony units were utilized for digital signage at the main entry and on twenty-one video displays throughout the venue. Philip Lentini, Vice-President of OSA Integrated Solutions, comments, “The ease in which the Harmony devices can be programmed and allow for independent audio/video streams makes Harmony a great solution for OSA’s wide array of projects. The modest cost to implement and quick ROI is a perfect solution for OSA and our clients.” Harmony developers and personnel have worked closely with OSA and other Harmony dealers to develop a full-featured system that allows users at all skill levels to realize their widescreen concepts in a user-friendly environment. Recent updates to the Harmony solution have delivered an even greater set of tools including the ability to incorporate live television streams into their custom branded visuals. Recently, Harmony also became the only platform that allows you to distribute digital signage presentations, background music, and custom audio messaging simultaneously from a single player at a single price-point. “We want to make life easy for our dealers as well as our customers,” says ReQuest CEO Peter Cholnoky, “and the best way for us to do that is to make a great product with an uncomplicated sales pitch. Harmony does it all from one box for one price.” With over 40,000 servers sold worldwide, ReQuest’s Harmony leverages over a decade of development in remote management, content syncing, and media organization. Harmony is a unique commercial music and video service providing complete flexibility for the client to furnish detailed schedules of their music and video either in a global, regional or local setting. The application also integrates advertising and company messaging within the music playlists, or video shows so businesses can promote specials or marketing messages during targeted times. Harmony by ReQuest offers both self-service digital signage and commercial audio from a single device.
ReQuest has upgraded customers to Harmony version 2.0, a free and major software update of the company’s web-based commercial music and digital signage solution. Harmony is the first in the industry to offer both digital signage and commercial audio simultaneously from a single, compact player.
“Our goal is to empower businesses with easy to use tools,” says Andy Lopez, ReQuest Director of Sales. “Combining both services into a single platform with one player eliminates complexity and provides a fast and affordable way for companies to deploy music and digital signage.”
With Harmony, ReQuest offers a solution that uses a single player for all content and a web based control and management system that does not require customers to install or maintain any software. Harmony delivers a self-service solution for creating digital signage without the bottleneck of submitting changes and updates to a third party. Managers simply log in to Harmony, upload existing marketing and branding collateral, and create their own captivating digital signage within a simple drag-and-drop interface.
With Harmony 2.0 business owners can run another wire from the same unobtrusive Harmony Player to an in-house stereo system and discover highly customizable music and custom audio messaging controlled by the same web-based management and scheduling system. Signage, music and messaging can be controlled on a device-by-device basis allowing for pinpoint accurate targeting of messaging and atmosphere. Any number of locations can be monitored and controlled from a laptop anywhere in the world.
“Offering a single price point for both Digital Signage and Commercial Audio has allowed Logic Integration to design customized solutions for both small businesses and global corporations”, offers Bill Craig, VP of Business Development for Logic Integration in Denver, Colorado. “With the Harmony Digital Signage system we have been able to meet the needs of companies ranging from a local yogurt shop with several regional locations to an international headquarters with facilities on all seven continents.”

Custom Integrator Finds New Opportunities in Commercial Channel
Jeff Franklin, owner of Connecticut based Home Theater Associates, has found a way to leverage his existing contacts and custom installation experience into success in a new channel. “I was hesitant at first, but the initial feedback from clients was beyond my expectations and as I became more confident, the sales began to flow”
Over the last two months, Jeff has begun offering Harmony by ReQuest among his portfolio of services. Harmony’s one-stop digital signage and commercial audio solution has revitalized his business. “I searched my client-base for commercial business owners and contacted them about a unique opportunity that could help brand their company. I was surprised how many business owners wanted to get involved with digital signage but didn’t know how to get started. The Harmony solution was incredibly easy to set up and deploy for each individual client. It has become a great sales tool.”
Harmony by ReQuest is a web based digital signage and commercial audio solution that has been making headway through the custom integration channel as a way for dealers to explore a whole new realm of business with a feature that is uncommon in the CEDIA channel – a recurring revenue stream.
“The business model has changed dramatically in the past couple of years for the Custom integrator,” states Andy Lopez, Director of Sales for ReQuest Inc. “A product and service like Harmony by ReQuest can provide those dealers with a real opportunity to achieve success. Jeff and other dealers like him can continue to grow their business while working within a framework they already know.”
The product is designed to empower businesses by offering them a set of familiar tools for turning existing marketing materials into easily deployed, professional looking digital signs. “I was not a PowerPoint user,” Jeff admits, “but within a couple of days I was producing high quality demos that were personalized to each individual client.”
Built upon a Software as a Service (SaaS) foundation, Harmony removes the middle-man from the process of creating and deploying custom digital signs. Business owners or internal marketing personnel can easily combine their own graphics and branding materials with full motion video and even add in real-time information from blogs, Twitter feeds, stock tickers, weather reports and other live information.
Updates can be made and deployed quickly by the businesses themselves without ever having to submit their changes to digital signage experts or consultants. From engaging menu boards at a national chain of restaurants to a lively happy hour announcement at the local pub, ReQuest’s aim when building Harmony was to put high-end audio and video branding within the grasp of any sized company.
Most restaurants, banks, retail, and multi-location companies deal with similar branding challenges every day – how to combine customized digital signage, music, and messaging to create a customer experience tailored to the special needs of each location. The deep scheduling system Harmony provides allows for levels of control that extend from the national level all the way down to exact times of day at single Harmony devices in each location. Managers and marketers count every hour of the day at every site as an opportunity to “Electrify their brand” and according to Andy, “We are also the only product available that provides, not only easy to build and manage digital signs, but out of the same box and the same application, custom scheduled background music.”
